MOAB, Utah (AP). A woman fainted after she stopped to rest in Utah Arches National Park. She woke up to hear a familiar voice.
Minnie John, New Jersey’s Minnie, asked if she knew the woman helping her or if she was well-known, according to a Facebook post.
“Her sister, the doctor asked me to guess. I said that I had just hit my head and couldn’t recall. John recounted how Julie Bowen was finally recognized from her long-running comedy series by smiling “Modern Family” and then she said, “Smile!
John wrote Aug. 3 that she was on a “bucket-list” trip to Arches. She had hiked to Delicate Arch (4-story sandstone arch) perched on the rim a deep redrock canyon for about an hour before she realized she couldn’t go any further. As she rested on the trail, her head in both her hands, she told her husband to keep going.
Julie Bowen and Annie Bowen told her her guide saw her fall face forward onto a rock. Annie said her glasses broke her fall. John stated that Julie Bowen cleaned her up and gave her electrolytes. John stated that they used her phone to call her son. Some people ran off to find him about 20 minutes earlier to let them know what was happening.
John stated that she had broken her nose and was treated at the hospital with five stitches. She thanked God for helping her.
“Daredevil, dumb as it may be, this climb up the mountain is one of my proudest accomplishments in my life.” She wrote that sometimes you have to accept those opportunities in life to reach heights and depths.
